1 day — Sightseeing excursion about St. Petersburg, including Peter and Paul Fortress.
2 day — Fortresses of Kopor’e and Ivangorod.
3 day — Fortresses of Ladoga and Oreshek.
4 day — Kronstadt Fortress with its sea forts.
5 day — Fortifications of Vyborg, fort Ino.
6 day — Forts Red Hillock and Grey Horse.
7 day — Finnish defences (Mannerheim Line, VT и VKT lines).
8 day — Defences of the Karelian fortified region: Sestroretsk, Beloostrov, Lembolovo.
The sequence of excursions can be changed.
Thus, you will see fortresses of medieval Rus’ and the Moscow State (Kopor’e, Yam-Gorod, Ivangorod, Ladoga, Oreshek), and of the Russian Empire (Peter and Paul Fortress, Kronstadt and its the forts, and some others), as well as some strongholds of Finnish and Soviet fortification lines of the 20th century.
Those who so desire can extend their stay at the hotel for a few days to get better acquainted with museums and architecture of St. Petersburg, which is particularly charming in later spring, with the white nights approaching.
The tour is unique – as well as other HFSC tours – as the excursions will be guided by scholars (not ordinary guides) who are leading specialists in the history of fortification. Professors, authors of numerous publications specialising in the fortification of the Moscow State, fortresses of the Russian Empire, Finnish fortification, Soviet strongholds – each will share his professional knowledge with you.
